Bret Thompson | Executive DIRECTOR & Founder
Prior to founding Collective Futures, Bret managed a non profit working with the homeless in Los Angeles as well as leading research development on admissions and enrollment for North American universities with NACCAP.
His contribution to community development worldwide has led him to working with Syrian refugees in the Middle East, widows and orphans in Africa, and with education throughout Latin America. Bret's desire for quantifiable change has shifted his focus to finance and impact investing, which led to the creation of Collective Futures.
Bret received his B.A. from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, M.A. in Philosophy from the University of London, and will be attending the University of Oxford for his MBA.
REbecca pratt | creative diRECTOR
For the past 10 years, Rebecca has been heavily involved in human rights advocacy and community development.
Prior to joining the Collective Futures team, she advocated for workers rights in Los Angeles, worked with refugees in Europe, helped develop micro-enterprises in India, and most recently lived in Belgium working to create social enterprises offering alternative employment to women seeking to leave the sex industry.
She studied Global Studies at Azusa Pacific University. After graduation, she spend the next five years working with the university to develop an M.A. in Global Leadership through which over 50 students were sent to live and serve in slum communities throughout the world.
LAUREN WILLIAMS | EDITOR
At Collective Futures, Lauren assists in the creation and editing of written content. Before joining the team, Lauren worked with children in Spain teaching English, she volunteered at an orphanage in Mexico, and has considerable experience living and working in Australia and various countries within Europe.
Lauren's passion lies within the alleviation of human suffering. She believes Collective Futures is providing fundamental stepping stones for students to pursue higher education, and ultimately have every right to. Lauren received her B.A. from Azusa Pacific University in Journalism and Communications.
Troy wesson | board of directors
For the past 15 years, Troy has been dedicated to Southwest School's International Program, of which he is the co-founder. Through his work he has been able to place many graduates in universities in the United States and other countries.
Throughout his life, Troy has worked as a consultant in areas such as defense, health, education and administration for various NGOs and Offices for Protection of Rights.
Jordan Lindstrom | CAREER DEVElopment
While assisting Collective Futures in career development strategies, Jordan works in Human Resources at ACUITY, A Mutual Insurance Company, a company known for its unique culture and ability to retain and develop its employees.
Jordan has gained certifications in leadership training through Development Dimensions International and plans to use his education, training, and career development to assist Collective Futures in creating curriculum to coach new professionals and leaders post-education. Jordan received his B.S. in Finance and M.S. in Management and Organizational Development.
